_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Born in Reus, 1988, Joan Magran\u00e9 received his first composition lessons by <strong>Ramon Humet.<\/strong> He subsequently studied at the Escola Superior de M\u00fasica de Catalunya, ESMUC, (Barcelona) with <strong>Agust\u00ed Charles<\/strong>; in the Kunst Universit\u00e4t (Graz) with <strong>Beat Furrer<\/strong> and in the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique et de Danse (Paris) with <strong>Stefano Gervasoni<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He has been\u00a0<em>laur\u00e9at<\/em>\u00a0of the<strong>\u00a0Villa Medici\u00a0<\/strong>(Rome, 2016), member of the\u00a0<strong>Casa Vel\u00e1zquez\u00a0<\/strong>(Madrid, 2017\/2018), composer in residence in\u00a0<strong>La Pedrera\u00a0<\/strong>(Barcelona, 2018\/2019) and in\u00a0<strong>Faber<\/strong>\u00a0(Olot, 2018), guest composer of the <strong>Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana<\/strong> (Barcelona, 2019\/2020) and composer in residence of the Centro Nacional de Difusi\u00f3n Musical, <strong>CNDM<\/strong>, (Madrid, 2020\/2021). The season 2021\/2022) he is guest composer of <strong>L&#8217;Auditori<\/strong> (Barcelona).<\/p>\n<p>Some poetic and artistic references \u2014from Ausi\u00e0s March, Joan Ro\u00eds de Corella to Francesc Garriga and Jaume C. Pons Alorda, from Mari\u00e0 Fortuny to Joan Mir\u00f3 and Perejaume\u2014 are crucial in his creative process; also very close to him are the music by Josquin Desprez, Orlando di Lasso and Claudio Monteverdi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In the field of opera, he has worked on different projects such as<a href=\"https:\/\/www.obnc.cat\/en\/production\/dido-reloaded-go-aeneas-go-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <strong><em>Dido Reloaded<\/em><\/strong>,<\/a> premiered at the Teatre Lliure in Barcelona in 2014, a chamber opera written with eight hands together with <strong>Xavier Bonfill<\/strong>, <strong>Raquel Garc\u00eda-Tom\u00e1s<\/strong> and <strong>Octavi Rumbau<\/strong>, produced by \u00d2pera de Butxaca i Nova Creaci\u00f3, \u00d2BNC. Along with Raquel Garc\u00eda-Tom\u00e1s, he has also written the opera <a href=\"https:\/\/www.obnc.cat\/en\/production\/displace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>disPLACE<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, with a libretto by <strong>Helena Tornero<\/strong> and premiered in Vienna in 2015, with \u00d2BNC, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.obnc.cat\/en\/production\/dialegs-de-tirant-e-carmesina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Di\u00e0legs de Tirant e Carmesina<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (with Isabella Gaud\u00ed, Anna Al\u00e0s and Josep Ramon Oliv\u00e9), a production by \u00d2pera de Butxaca i Nova Creaci\u00f3, Festival de Peralada and Gran Teatre del Liceu, with scenery by <strong>Jaume Plensa<\/strong>, premiered in Peralada in July 2019 with musical direction of <strong>Francesc Prat<\/strong>. In November 2022, it is presented at the Teatros del Canal in Madrid with the collaboration of the Teatro Real.
