Francesc Prat
Francesc Prat is a conductor and composer who approaches music with an open mind and who divides his time between the symphonic repertoire, opera and contemporary creation, for which he feels a particular affinity. This interest has placed him in today’s music scene, particularly in Switzerland and Spain, as well as directing projects at events as diverse as the Lucerne Festival, Basel Composition Competition, ArtBasel, Berlinale or the Barcelona Sónar Festival.

At the Peralada Festival, he premiered as musical director the opera by Joan Magrané Diàlegs de Tirant e Carmesina (Dialogues of Tirant and Carmesina) produced by ÒBNC, which was performed in the 2019-20 season of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and in Teatros del Canal, Madrid, collaboration with Teatro Real, in the 2022-23 season.
As a composer, his catalogue mainly includes chamber music and works for ensemble, which have been awarded prizes in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Austria. In October 2012 he premiered his first opera in Basel. He collaborates as musical advisor with Òpera de Butxaca i Nova Creació, ÒBNC, and in 2020 he composed the solo Cállate (Be quiet!) with libretto by Oriol Pla for the Sis Solos Soles (Six Solos Alones) project, six new creations for six female voices, premiered on September 28, 2022 at Ateneu Barcelonès, Barcelona.
