Andromeda in chains, by Agustí Charles, travels to Germany, after its premiere at the Barcelona’s Palau de la Música – Petit Palau in October 2021. The opera can be seen at the Staatstheater Darmstadt on October 21 and 22 at 8:00 p.m.
The play, based on texts by Fátima Frutos, is a monodrama for soprano, performed by María Hinojosa; amplified violin, Marc Charles; harp, Esther Pinyol, and percussion and live electronics, (with the addition of the ePad-Wood, a new electronic percussion instrument created by the composer himself) with libretto by Marc Rosich, stage direction by Jordi Pérez Solé and musical direction by Lorenzo Ferrándiz.
These performances have the support of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) within the framework of “Spain guest of Honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2022”.
